Same-day Crowns: Quality Restorations in One Visit

One week. Two weeks. One month. Two months. The process for creating traditional dental crowns can take weeks to even months to complete. Do you really have the time and patience to space out the restorative dental work you need?

Now, you don’t have to with CEREC same-day crowns at Southern Minnesota Sedation Dentiistry. We have invested in this modern technology that makes use of both computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) and computer-aided design (CAD), to provide high-quality dental restoration work, fast!

Technology is on your side! No longer do you have to wait and spread out your dental crown work over several weeks or several appointments, now you can literally have your new ceramic crown or crowns, done in one day! Let’s review what CEREC same-day crowns are, and how they are different from traditional dental crowns.

What Are Cerec Crowns?

CEREC same-day dental crowns represent the most advanced technology in dental restoration, offering patients faster, high-quality, and cost-effective results. Using our in-office CEREC milling machine, short for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, or CERamic REConstruction, we can design and create your crown in just one visit, often within a couple of hours. This innovation eliminates the need for multiple appointments while providing a restoration that costs about the same as a traditional lab-made crown, making it a transformative solution in modern dentistry.

Cerec Same-day Crowns vs. Traditional Crowns

One of the biggest advantages of CEREC technology is the convenience of same-day service. Your crown can be designed, crafted, and placed in a single visit, allowing you to stay comfortably in the dentist’s chair while the entire process is completed from start to finish. Instead of messy, uncomfortable traditional impressions, CEREC uses digital scanning to capture precise 3D images of your teeth, ensuring a comfortable experience and an accurate fit.

Patients also enjoy the durability of CEREC crowns. Research shows that nine years after placement, CEREC crowns have a success rate of 95.5 percent, and after eighteen years, they still maintain an impressive 84 percent success rate. This combination of efficiency, comfort, and long-lasting quality makes CEREC crowns an excellent choice for many patients.
